AES and Hionos agree on autopilot cooperation
AES Aerospace Embedded Solutions GmbH and HIONOS agreed to combine their expertise in developing flight control systems for drones and airtaxis: they plan to develop in 2019 a joint autopilot product by merging complementary products from AES (Flight Control Computer platform) and HIONOS (PULSAR applications software).
Both companies believe that high added value drone operations (like urban transportation, surveillance or long range operation beyond visual line of sight) and urban air mobility will be an important market in the near future. Drones which represents the “specific” or “certified” categories and manned VTOLs which must comply to EASA Special Condition for airtaxi will have to meet highest aeronautics standards like ARP4761, DO-178C, DO-254.
AES and HIONOS have both already established capabilities and expertise with these regulations.
AES and HIONOS will both exhibit during the Paris Air Show from June 17th to 21st and will be available to answer any question about their cooperation
